The story of this piece
Mohammad Yousuf's quietest kani — a beige ground with a fine all-over pattern in caramel and gold that reads almost like a texture until you look closely. The kind of piece you wear every day without people knowing what it is.
A note on the hand. Yousuf is the youngest weaver in the atelier. He apprenticed under Ghulam Rasool for seven years before he was allowed to take his first piece. He weaves a tighter kani than his teacher — denser, slower — and his work has begun to develop a quiet following among collectors who notice these things.
