Shipping & returns
How a piece travels.
The fine print, in plain English. Written so you can find what you need quickly.
- Packaging
- Every piece leaves the atelier folded in unbleached muslin, in a wooden box, with a handwritten provenance card and a small linen tag bearing the artisan’s name. The box itself is wrapped in cotton-paper and tied with twine.
- Within India
- Free, insured courier (Blue Dart) on all orders. Major cities receive in 2–4 working days; remote pin codes in 5–7. Dispatch happens within 48 hours of payment clearing, except on the rare piece where we let the embroidery sit a final day to settle.
- International
- DHL or FedEx Priority, fully insured, with tracking. Most destinations arrive within 7–10 working days of dispatch. Shipping is charged at cost, with no markup. Customs duties at the destination are the buyer’s responsibility — we will help with paperwork but cannot waive them.
- Returns
- Unworn, unwashed pieces, with original packaging and tags, can be returned within 14 days of delivery for a full refund. We arrange the return courier; the cost is borne by the buyer unless the piece was misdescribed or damaged in transit.
- Exchanges
- We are happy to exchange a ready-to-ship piece for another of equal or higher value within 30 days. Difference is paid by bank transfer.
- Commissions are not returnable
- Pieces made specifically for you — bespoke commissions and made-to-order — are not eligible for return, except in the case of a clear defect on our part. Once the talim is written and the yarn is dyed, the artisan’s time is committed.
- Damage in transit
- All shipments are insured against loss and damage. If a piece arrives damaged, photograph the box and contents before unwrapping further, and write to us within 48 hours. We will replace, repair, or refund — whichever is appropriate.
- Repairs
- We repair our own work for as long as the piece exists. Most repairs are free; some require materials that have to be sourced again, in which case there will be a small charge. Postage in both directions is for the owner’s account.
